If you think you want a snake/reptile first ask yourself this...
-can i house this animal properly?
-can i feed it eat rodents, birds, etc?
-will i be able to handle it on a regular basis?
-can i provide proper heat and other needs?
-will i be able to keep this animal for over 20+ years?!
If you said yes to all of them you are ready for a reptile! Find a breeder you trust and email them for a while, get to know them, then when your ready get a tank setup and order your reptile! before ordering make sure to see a picuture of the animal your buying and to get its feeding scedual and what it is eating.
When you recieve your reptile unbox it and make sure it looks healthy, flicks its tounge, and shows interest in you. then place it directly in its new encloser. Leave it for 2-3 days and try handling it for the first time. it may bite or hiss but DO NOT SHOW FEAR! they can smell fear with their tounge then THEY will be in control. so gentaly handle it then leave it for another 24 hours and try again. after 3 handlings try feeding it, its first meal. (feed in separate "feeding bin") it may eat, or it may refuse. after feeding time if it eats DO NOT TOUCH IT FOR 24-48 HOURS! after tht 24-48 hours it is safe to handle again.
